About
Grandson of Texas fiddler Cotton Collins, nephew of Dewayne "Son Geezinslaw" Smith. Began pickin guitar in 1998 and wrote first song soon after. became infatuated with songwriting and soon was hitting all the open mics playing my tunes. Started my first band "No Limits" with my good friends Terry Coe, Dan Navjar and James Mangham. A southern rock band but my heart was with country music. In 2003 started the Glen Collins Band and was glad to have Jim Bowles become a founding member, With Jim's help was able to put together a great country band with players such as "Skinny" Don Keeling, Nat Alewine, Terry Brown,Charlie Prichard,Jerry Renshaw.
2007 I released my debut CD and my songs " Old School" , "Liberty Hill" and "Back to Austin" recieved airplay on radio stations in the Central Texas area. My country gospel song "All the same" is currently played on KVET Sunday Morning gospel show. I enjoy hosting my weekly songwriters night at Ross ol Austin Cafe and continue to write songs and play music.
