REVIEWS:
DROWNED IN SOUND:
"Touches of Berlin-period Bowie and an ever-present gloom and mechanical whir that raises up the spectre of Factory Records."
THIS IS FAKE DIY:
"An enthralling and atmospheric record... Sublime. 9/10"
"...impressively broad in both scope and sound... a seriously dark album for seriously dark times."
"...one hell of an album. It is unflinching, uncompromising..."
"...truly unique. No other band are making sounds like The Narrows."
"...a well-structured musical death ray... The speed of attack varies from full blown blitzkrieg to punches in slow motion..."
"... it's accessible, it's melodic, it's even quite close to pop at times ... simultaneously it's sinister and full of ideas, both musically and lyrically... Those who capture the zeitgeist these days are those who engage more subtly with it... The Narrows take a similarly intelligent and multi-angled approach. More than a little impressive."
"There is a moment during this album that is so jaw droppingly stunning... (it) would bring old masters such as Radiohead to their knees..."
"...this is an album that warrants repeated listens...tremendous."
"...a piece of art which could have been moulded by Tim Burton and edited by David Lynch....As a debut album it stupefies, seduces and stretches the boundaries... It's an immaculate production which benchmarks electro-guitar bands establishing them amongst their peers as post-modernist pioneers."
HIGH VOLTAGE:
"Here, right here, we could have the makings of another Manchester legend. Like Delphic run through a dark ambient wringer, or Johnny Greenwood playing session on a Portishead record comes the Narrows’ debut, and it is fucking ESSENTIAL... Manchester's best dark alternative band... when it comes to curent Manchester bands, The Narrows really are leading the pack"
MANCHESTER MUSIC:
"...consistently, utterly brilliant...they have precisley no contemporaries"
M.E.N /CITYLIFE:
"...one of the most original, provocative and iconoclastic new Manchester bands of 2011."
