Travel back in time into the fascinating world of the Etruscans, an ancient people that thrived on the Italian peninsula before the rise of the Romans. Through guided conversation and artmaking, together we’ll discover how—despite more than 2,000 years between us—we and the Etruscans are not so different.
ReCollections is a free, dementia-friendly program that began in 2022 as a partnership between the San Antonio Museum of Art, the Glenn Biggs Institute for Alzheimer’s and Neurodegenerative Diseases at UT Health San Antonio, and the Alzheimer’s Association. Designed for individuals living with dementia and their families, the program uses art to inspire conversation, creativity, connection, and meaningful reminiscence.
Led by trained museum educators, participants engage in guided conversations about art, hands-on activities, and storytelling in a welcoming and supportive environment. ReCollections encourages social connection, emotional expression, and cognitive engagement while helping participants feel valued, understood, and included in the community.
