A San Antonio original, Dylan Loza picked up the guitar at 14 and never really put it down. He spent years building his own genre from the ground up; pulling from classic soul icons like Otis Redding and Ray Charles, the reggae warmth of Bob Marley, and the laid-back singer-songwriter world of John Mayer and Jack Johnson. The result is what he calls Soul Rock: a sound that’s easy to love and hard to forget. He even made it to the Hollywood rounds on Season 11 of American Idol, though San Antonio has been lucky enough to keep him close. His sets have the natural energy of someone who plays because he loves it, and it shows in every song.
